Four Jazz Compositions
KBOO kicks off Black History Month with a special featuring extended orchestral compositions by four extraordinary jazz musicians: the “Ptah and Mantra” songs by Alice Coltrane, “Afrika Rising” by Nicole Mitchell and the Black Earth Ensemble, “Occupy the World for Life, Liberty and Justice” by Wadada Leo Smith, and the very rare “Topology Suite” by Joe McPhee.
