To start your week off, Fortunate will present some holiday stories for today's Sampler. As we do each year, we'll play one of The Father Christmas Letters by J.R.R. Tolkien which we recorded years ago with Portland writer Katherine Dunn. And, "Dancing Dan's Christmas" by Damon Runyon tells the story of how an old fashion holiday drink called a Tom and Jerry, along with a Santa Claus costume saves a man's life. Also, Ed and Dan will present their picks for their favorite folk music from the last year. All this and very little seasonal music.
