Meet the Gleaners of Linn and Benton Counties, Oregon
Welcome to Season Two of Local Folks Podcast focused on the gleaners of Linn and Benton Counties – local folks who volunteer their time to help themselves and fellow community members feed their families and heat their homes. Week in and week out, gleaners gather and distribute food and firewood to thousands of low income households in Western Oregon’s Willamette Valley. In this first episode we get an overview of the incredible work these folks do, and set the stage for future episodes to help answer the following question: What can the work of Gleaners tell us about how to effectively use local resources to address community problems? We can learn a lot from these hardworking people.
