Philip Alston, Special Rapporteur on extreme poverty and human rights for the United Nations Human Rights Council
Reducing Harms and Managing Risks

Philip Alston, the Special Rapporteur on extreme poverty and human rights from the United Nations Office of the High Commissioner on Human Rights, recently completed a visit to the United States. He brought particular focus to the criminalization of poverty and the devastating impact that this has on American society. This week on Prison Pipeline, host Doug McVay looks at what can be done to de-criminalize being poor.
