Tom Hogan, born and raised in the Portland area, has written five chapbooks of poetry, the first of which, Poems for the Journey, came out in 2001; the fifth, Cathedral Rock, was published in 2008.  His first full-length collection was The Promise of the Trail, in 2014, and his second, new and selected poems, is now in progress.  Tom directs the Milwaukie Poetry Series at Ledding Library's Pond House in Milwaukie, Oregon, currently in its 11th season.  With the focus and energy of poetry, Tom also works as a clinical social worker (part-time now, in private practice, though he was a full-time supervisor with State of Oregon Services to Children and Families for 31 years).  He's a poet-backpacker whose Pacific Crest Trail hiking includes all of Oregon and (so far) all-but-five-sections of the trail in Washington.
