Transgender Labor and Arts Programming

This Tuesday at 6pm Transpositive co-host Aiden Vargas and the collective with guests Brooklynn Clark and Andrea Haverkamp will discuss the current employment challenges we have been facing. Many members of our Trans Family have been losing their jobs. We must work from within in order to effectively confront the attacks coming from 45 and his administration. Join us this Tuesday (September 5th) as we explore options and ideas in order to strengthen job security and stability.

We will also be joined by Becca Blackwell to talk about her West Coast Premiere of They, Themself and Schmerp which kicks off the Artists Rep’s 2017/18 FRONTIER SERIES Season. Becca Blackwell will share insights into the creation of They, Themself, and Schmerm, including themes of gender and transition, strategies of humor, and forms of comedy and personal narrative. Schmerm is written by Blackwell, directed and developed by Ellie Heyman in collaboration with Jill Pangallo and Jess Barbagallo. This one-weekend production, the first of Artists Rep’s 2017/18 FRONTIER SERIES bringing new work in performance to Portland.
