Portland-based Venerable Showers of Beauty Gamelan will be performing at Lewis and Clark College this coming Saturday, Nov. 10 at 7:30 pm. The concert, titled "From Indonesia to Portland: Traditional and Contemporary Gamelan Music from Java" will feature VSB along with Indonesian master musician Aloysius Suwardi, renowned Berkeley-based Javanese teacher and musician Midiyanto and members of the Seattle-based Gamelan Pacifica. So during the second hour of tonight's show, we will be speaking in studio with VSB director Mindy Johnston and Aloysius Suwardi (Pak Ael) to learn more about Javanese gamelan music and the upcoming performance. more info: vsbgamelan.org
