I saw her way back when I was in college... and she was about 12
I went to the University of Illinois in the late 70's/early 80s, and I recall seeing Union Station play at the student center (called the Illini Union, hence Union Station?) when she was almost pre-teen. I thought it was a little weird at the time: here was this slip of a young female fiddle prodigy, backed up by a band consisting of young adult men who didn't strike me as that impressive. But, credit to her, the band got better and she went on from there to make it big. - Kurt
