NW Natural gaslighting Portland since 1859

Northwest Natural, Oregon's largest fracked gas utility, has been doing its best for several years to delay the region's move to full electrification. But in the past few months the company is getting its comeuppance in the form of an expanded lawsuit from Multnomah County, accusing the utility of bearing responsibility for the deadly heat dome that struck Portland 2021. In addition NW Natural’s own customers have filed a class action lawsuit claiming the company misled them about how its carbon reduction program works and that it’s using funds from that program to promote and generate more carbon emissions.

On this episode of Locus Focus we talk with  Brian Stewart with Electrify Now about  these two lawsuits, the greenwashing from the gas industry, false building heating solutions like RNG and Hydrogen, and the benefits of electrification.
