Please join us on Monday, July 18th at 6:30 pm for Prison Pipeline on KBOO Community Radio as we talk with Monica Moreno about the death of her father, Enrique Moreno.  Enrique Moreno, also known as Hank, was a father and a veteran.  Incarcerated in Texas and sentenced to seven years in prison on marijuana charges, Moreno died in prison just 20 days before his seven year sentence was completed.  Moreno died of complications from Hepatitis C which was left untreated by the prison system the entire duration of his sentence until he was almost dead.  His daughter, who was in regular contact with him on an almost daily basis tells his story on this week’s episode of Prison Pipeline.

Prison Pipeline is a radio program dedicated to educating the public about the Oregon criminal justice system. Our goal is to present a unique understanding of the criminal justice system, address the root causes of crime, and challenge the status quo. We seek to promote awareness and activism in order to foster a safe, healthy, and just society. Tune in every Monday at 6:30 P.M. to hear our hosts Karen James, Adam Carpinelli, Emma Lugo, and Doug McVay explore the Oregon justice system with a variety of guests.
