Back by popular demand, Fight Night 2012 is PATA’s vaudevillian showcase of outrageous short fights, each produced by a different Portland theatre organization. Verbal battles! Physical combat! Musical matches! Email squabbles! Clowns! Puppets!

At the Alberta Rose Theatre (3000 Northeast Alberta Street), on Monday September 24th, at 7:30pm, the Portland Area Theatre Alliance (PATA) will present FIGHT NIGHT 2012: Violence. Villainy. Rage. Resentment. Revenge... not the ingredients you’d normally reach for in order to spread joy and foster community, right? Except in this case, it kinda works.

This year’s participants include Action/Adventure, OPS Fest, Post5, Tears of Joy, Staged! and many more.

Special Feature: Three or more noteworthy figures in the Portland Community will be offering up their faces to be hit with a pie by the highest bidder in the audience. Be sure to bring some extra cash for this very special “auction” as well as for a chance to win our evening’s raffle!

The program is set to run 2 hours including 1 intermission and is recommended for mature audiences. Tickets are $15.00 for PATA members and $25.00 for non-members. Seating is limited so reservations are highly recommended.

Audiences are encouraged to bring along extra cash for two special opportunities during the show: “A Year Of Theatre,” worth over $600.00, is the grand prize for our raffle and “Take A Pie For PATA” is an interstitial act where notable members of the Portland community auction themselves to take a pie in the face from the highest bidder. Two of last year’s participants included Portland theatre critics Ben Waterhouse (Willamette Week) and Alison Hallett (The Mercury).

All profits of FIGHT NIGHT 2012 go to supporting PATA and its year-round programs. We are an IRS 501(c)(3) nonprofit association of theatre artists, producing companies and affiliated business in the Portland area. Since its founding in 1987, PATA has continued its mission to strengthen the Portland Area Theatre Community. Our offices are located 1517 SW Morrison Street in downtown Portland in the Artists Repertory Theatre annex.
