KBOO is open to the public! To visit the station, contact your staff person or call 503-231-8032.

Hi folks,

I have decided on a procedure to make the vocal recordings which are
now being recorded available for musicians & audio artists to hear
and perhaps add-to/work-on.

The yahoo site has a limit of nothing larger than 10MB can be attached.  This means nothing longer than about 10 minutes.

Glen Owen turned my name into Free Geek and this week Free Geek gave
me  one of their "grant-boxes" which is a newer-larger-faster
computer with enough memory for me to do audio work at home.

Thank you Glen and thank you Free Geek.  Very much!!!

Once I get everything set up and the audio program mounted, I hope by
Friday, I will begin sending out emails about vocal performances
available for musicians to work upon.  They will be coded
CALL--vocal for additional audio.

Anything under 10MB I will attach to the emails as mp3 files which you
can download and listen to and perhaps/hopefully want to work on.

Anything over 10MB, I will send out a similarly coded and numbered
email alert with nothing attached.  If it sounds interesting, then
go to www.kboo.fm.  On the left side of the page you will see
Programming and under that Program Directory which you should click
on.  Then the first program is A Different Nature where you should
click on Richard Francis under Hosts.  Next screen up, under Blogs
click on view recent blog entries where you will be able to find the
same email but with the mp3 file attached.

As soon as you decide that you want to work on something, please let me
know so that I can put out an alert AND especially please let me know
if it is a 10MB file so that I can remove it from my blog-site and free
up the memory.

I am not so concerned if we end up with two or three versions of the
same poem with different music/sound for the smaller pieces.  But
I am for the larger, over 10-minute variety.  So please let me
know asap.

If this poses any problems please inform me immediately.  I know
it is exposing material to the public before the festival, but not
enough I think to worry about.

thanks

love
