The Fukushima Nuclear Disaster: Four Years Later with Charles Johnson of PSR
On March 11 of this year, exactly four years after the devastating nuclear disaster in Japan, Charles Johnson of Physicians for Social Responsibility talked about the Fukushima nuclear disaster, the result of a major earthquake.

This Locus Focus program offers excerpts from that talk, which was sponsored by the Marys Peak Sierra Club chapter and took place in Corvallis, Oregon. The talk has four parts.  First we hear a description of the disaster and its many hazardous impacts in Japan, Oregon, and elsewhere. The second part asks, "Could it happen here with our own Northwest plant, the Columbia Generating Station?" The third discusses renewable energy. And the final part discusses Small Modular Reactors, currently being promoted commercially by NuScale Power, which has its US corporate headquarters in Portland and an office in Corvallis.

Roberta Hall is the guest producer of today's Locus Focus.
