Oregon native, Kalapua tribal member, Jan Michael LookingWolf will grace the KBOO studios, fresh from his trip to Ireland where he was welcomed by peacemakers in formerly war-torn Derry.
Jan has a wonderful new CD called "Wind Dreamer" and on it is Redwillow's favorite, "Fire and Water".
LookingWolf, Native American Music Award winner, will bring some friends and play some music and talk about his "One Heart" work and his work at Oregon State University.

esperanza spalding...
we at 'guess who's coming to radio??!!' are pleased to present to you the art and words of esperanza spalding... we had the opportunity to speak with her for a few moments, in the midst of her preparation to perform at a benefit for thara memory, and the american music program on the 26th of august at the gerding theatre. spalding is originally from portland, and she returns repetedly to make positive contributions to the communities which assisted her in allowing her dreams to move forward.
this evening we'll also be presenting original pieces by ms. spalding, as well as her interpretations of various composers.

...honouring the teacher, radio 2012 style...
we are taking another year to reflect on the works of our teacher (and ancestor) michael jackson. even though we have come to terms with his transition it still has been hard for us during different points of the year. however, we do our best to honour him as much as we can to the best of our abilities; and we continuously marvel at how much we learn something new every day when it comes to him.
