Israaeli company changes labeling
A group of Oregon activists have succeeded in forcing an Israeli company to change the labeling on its products.
The company is called Sodastream, and it sells a soda-making machine that is popular among do-it-yourselfers.
But the Sodastream factory is located on Palestinian land in the West Bank, and the company takes advantage of the Israeli military occupation of Palestine, according to activists.
The Israeli company recently changed the labels on its products to say “Made in the West Bank.”
Previously the labels said “Made in Israel”.
SodaStream made the change following a complaint to the Oregon Department of Justice by a group of Oregon human rights activists who accused the company of violating Oregon’s Fair Trade Practices Act.
