Reverse Mortgages and Seniors

The KBOO News investigative reporting team continues delving into the issue of senior citizens in Oregon who may lose their homes due to a piece of legislation passed earlier this spring by the state legislature. The bill removes seniors with reverse mortgages from a state-run program that allows for the deferral of property taxes for seniors with low incomes. KBOO’s Jenka Soderberg spoke with Oregon state congressman Phil Barnhart, who is the co-chair of the State House Revenue Committee.
