On Friday, March 11, the Oregon Single Payer Coalition is sponsoring a Lobby Day for the Affordable Health Care for All Oregon Act (HB 3510 and SB 888) at the Oregon Capitol in Salem. You can find the final bill here: HB3510.   Registration for training will begin at 9 am, at MICAH Hall, in the First Methodist Church, 680 State St. (one block from the Capitol). Training, between 9:30 and 10:30 a.m., will take about a half hour, and coffee, fruit, and pastries will be provided. Then, advocates will meet with their legislators or legislative aides until noon. If you request lunch, they can arrange it for a small fee.   The Coalition’s Lobby Day Appointment Coordinator is currently scheduling appointments with legislators. Please contact him at the email address or phone number below to see if/when your legislator is available. (Don’t worry- if you’ve never visited personally with your legislator, we will go in small groups to build your confidence).   There will be a rally on the Capitol steps from noon to 1 p.m. Advocates will continue meeting legislators until 3 p.m. There will be a hearing by the House Health Care Committee to take testimony for the bill between 3:00 and 4:00 p.m.

Fifty five percent of the Benton Community Health Center are uninsured.
