Interview about Energy Trust's Meter Lending Program

Portland, Oregon based Energy Trust’s Check out Energy Savings Program has been so successful it’s sparked long waiting lists and generated record breaking media coverage for the nonprofit organization. Energy Trust, which helps Oregonians reduce their energy consumption, launched the program, last summer, collaborating with over a hundred libraries across the state to lend out Kill A Watt energy meters. Patrons can check out a meter from their local library, take it home, hook it to any appliance and discover how many kilowatts the appliance uses.

In this interview by KBOO environmental reporter Jacob Anderson-Minshall speaks with Kate Scott, a residential project manager at Energy Trust about the program, it's success and how others can create similar efforts.
