Walk through one of the best and most interesting of Portland's parklands and learn about history, landscaping, wildlife, and current issues from park staff and volunteers. This Saturday at 10am Hoyt Arboretum is having a guided green walk through the park.  This leisurely walk will last between 1 hour to and hour and a half and is appropriate for adults and families.  Hoyt Arboretum walks leave from the Visitor Center at 4000 SW Fairview Blvd, Portland, Oregon  For more information go to hoyt arboretum dot org

On Saturday, November 6th, the Whiteside Theatre Foundation will be celebrating the 88th birthday of the Whiteside Theatre. There will be free cupcakes and free 20 minute tours of the theatre from 11am  to 12:30 pm.  Sign-up sheets will be available in front of the theatre, starting shortly before 11 am. This Sunday, Reverend Kiyimba,  founding minister of the Unitarian Universalist church in Kampala, Uganda, will speak on the dire threats to LGBTQ rights in Unganda. An Anti-Homosexuality Bill is before the Ugandan Parliament which could punish people who are perceived as homosexual with life imprisonment, and, in certain cases, death.
