Hang on: We'll have Mike Gogulski back with Global Action Days supporting Pvt Manning & Wikileaks

As of 10:30 am, Portland is still waiting the verdict on Officer Ronald Frashour's dubious future.  Fired , retired or rehired, how can the man face himself having murdered an innocent citizen, shot him in the back.  Aaron Campbell's memories are over.  But Frashour's are just beginning...

Tomorrow marks Mexico’s 200th independence day anniversary and Oregon’s Hispanic population will be celebrating.  In Beaverton, Mayor Denny Doyle drew the ire of Lars Larson and the jawbone foam of Fox’s Bill O’Reilly:  Because…Doyle budgeted $6000 of taxpayers’ dollars for the festivities.  The Rabid Right objected to this extravagance because the city didn’t spend $6000 on 4th of July celebrations, apparently not realizing that American Independence Day comes around every year.  Centennials come around every hundred years –  in this case, 200 years.  But wing-nut wailing and gnashing of teeth didn’t stop Doyle:  The party is still on.  Across Cascadia people whose heritage traces roots to Latin American nations are pulling out the stops to put on a festival sharing history, culture and $6000 dollars .
