                Why:                         To celebrate IRCO’s 35 years of stellar service to the community with global food, music, dance and entertainment and to raise funds for further programming to serve Portland

               

                 Portland, Ore. – A celebration of the Immigrant and Refugee Community Organization’s 35 years of service to the community will be held this October the 15th from 6:30 to 9:30pm at the Nines Hotel, in downtown Portland. The evening will feature local food with a global flare, world music and dance and a Multi-Cultural Fashion Show featuring clothes and models from all regions of the world IRCO serves including the Middle East, South East Asia, the Former Soviets and Central, South and East Africa.

                The event will be attended by regional community, business and political leaders as well as immigrant and refugee leaders from the community. A silent auction, cocktail hour, dinner, music, dance and fashion will round out the evening. 250 tickets will be sold at $90 each for the event; there are also several sponsorship opportunities available. The evening with be hosted by channel 12’s Sophie Soong, and every cent raised the evening of the event will go 100% to IRCO programming and clients.

                IRCO has served over 250,000 Portlanders since its inception in 1976, spends over 90 cents of every dollar donated on programming and served over 33,000 clients last year. IRCO’s mission is to promote the integration of refugees, immigrants and the community at large into a self-sufficient, healthy and inclusive multi-ethnic society.
