Join us for some Free Jazz from the late 60's, early 70's. Two seminal recordings, and an awesome rare date by South African drummer Selwyn Lissak.
Alexander Von Schlippenbach's Globe Unity: SUN, from December 6th and 7th, 1966 at Ariola Studios, Cologne. Personnel includes: Manfred Schoof, Claude Deron, Will Lietzmann, Peter Brotzmann, Gerd Dudeck, Kris Wanders, Wlem Breuker, Gunter Hampel, Karlhanns Berger, Buschi Niebergall, Peter Kowald, Jackie Lebezeit (Can), Mani Neumeier.
Noah Howard's The Black Ark is an important and powerful record from 1969, N.Y.C. Personnel: Noah Howard, Arthur Doyle, Earl Cross, Lesie Waldron, Norris Jones (Sirone), Mohammed Ali (Rashied's brother) and Juma.
Friendship Next of Kin, Facets of the Universe, featuring Selwyn Lissak is another strong album. Recorded in London n September of 1969. The line up includes Mike Osborne, Kenneth Terroade, Harry Miller and Earl Freeman.
