Don't be afraid...
The 25th of June is the day Michael Jackson transcended, six years ago...  It was only THIS YEAR where we finally came to terms with his not being here.  Since we do have a show specifically dedicated to him (in August), we won't have the whole show dedicated to him; however, we do want to honor his spirit, in terms of his being proud/unapologetic for who he was.  With that, people around the world are also honoring their friends, families and loved ones who are part of the LGTBQ communities.  While the commercialism/capitalistic aspect of what is known as 'pride' is emphasized; if it were not for a Puerto Rican trans woman named Sylvia Rivera, and an African trans woman named Marsha P. Johnson you most likely would not have the dance parties you do today.   The Stonewall revolts were largely about fighting police abuse and oppressive laws- and this connects to so many things we speak to on this show.  We at
'guess who's coming to radio??!!' pay tribute to anyone who makes a conscious decision to put themselves out there to fight injustice.

In honor of these three individuals (in particular), we will play the music (and words) of those who are not ashamed to be who they are.
