In February, a group of scholars, activists, journalists, writers and thinkers met at Portland State University for a day of series and discussions called The Arab Spring: A Year That Changed the World.
The conference, organized by the campus group Students United for Palestinian Equal Rights, or SUPER, aimed to examine the events of the Arab Spring, its regional and international implications, and its effects on the future of Palestine.
KBOO was there, and is proud to present three lectures from the conference.
The final hour of the special features a lecture by Nora Barrows-Friedman, a journalist and staff editor for The Electronic Intifada, speaking about human rights issues in Palestine and their relation to the Arab Spring.

He is currently the Latin America news editor for Energy News Today, but has also worked for Knight-Ridder, Dow Jones, and the Associated Press. He is the author of The Obama Haters.
