Antorcha, Bodo Molitor, Aristeo, Vertigo: Mexican Psych

This Friday night join us for an evening of great music!, with the band Antorcha (Las Antorchas) from Mexico, late 1960's, early 70's. Their music was a mixture of Psychedelic, Hard Rock with Protest lyrics.

Also, Bodo Molitor; a German who made a record in Mexico in the late 1960's, with plenty of Psychedelia, Fuzz Guitar. He now lives in Egypt, still producing music.

And Aristeo, Heriberto Montes de Oca from the Sonora-Arizona area, a couple of recordings with another one of his projects, Vertigo, from the 1980's. On these recordings, Montes de Oca plays keyboards and guitar, and does singing as well, on drums is Fernando Ochoa. These recordings have never been released, and thank you's go to the family for sahring these beyond valuable documents.

The show started with Alquimia with a presentation of the CD "Incinerada". To continue with F. Steel and his recrding "Mama se fue a la Selva". Then, an unedited very rare live recording by Voldarepet Knact Didactico, during the First Enounter of Rock in Opposition in Mexico City, late 1970's, or early 1980's. After that, a collective jam from the same event, with all the participants. To close the show, Oxomaxoma, with some recordings from their 25th anniversary, a live recording of a radio broadcast.

A fantastic show featuring live music and guests. First, the unique stylings of We Are Like The Spider transcended our first hour, as they performed in the studio. Starting off the second hour, Raf, of Rafael Vigilantics, delivered some amazing beats and raps. Dennis Nybeck of the Cartoon Institute came in to promote his month long series of off beat, avant guard and little seen cartoons at the Faux Museum . Jamie Leopold stopped in as well as a touring band call Cuckoo Chaos, promoting their upcoming appearances in town.
